Superfund Targets 15 L.I. Sites

According to Congress, the estimated cost of cleaning up the nation's hazardous waste sites is $229 billion, far outstripping the current $1.6 billion EPA Superfund. With 15 such toxic sites, Long Island is among the leading 'contributors' to the Superfund's high-priority list.
